Castaway is a rousing, pirate type of song about being left behind.  Gareth's is of Native American Mi'kmaq/Cree descent on his father's side, and through his mothers lineage, he is descended from Stephen Hopkins, who was on the ship Sea Venture, on a voyage to Jamestown, Virginia in 1609 when the ship wrecked in the "Isle of Devils" (Bermuda). After many months - the castaways built a small ship and were able to sail to Jamestown.  Hopkins later sailed on the Mayflower and helped to map out Plymouth Plantation.

Recorded at Sunset Blvd Studios in Nashville, TN,  this song features "A" list session players: Dave Cleveland on guitars, Danny O'Lannerghty on bass, Seth Rausch on drums, Robert White Johnson on back up vocals, engineer Steve Dady and Grammy award winning engineer Gary Dales, along with Master Engineer Norbert Rausch and was mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering.

1-2-3  is a labor of love, and one of Gareth's best albums yet.  All songs were written and produced by Gareth and recorded in Nashville, TN, at Sunset Blvd Studios.  These songs are a culmination of spiritual and earthy refections from the rootsy title cut 1-2-3 to the etherial, and entrancing Someone I Never Found.  Black Swan is a conversation with death personified, and My World ,was written to bring attention and awareness to autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Walking with Angels was written in memory of friend and mentor Jimmy Yellow Horse.
